Service Description

Vodapod’s Leadership Development Programme is a monthly, rolling programme designed to support leaders in regulated care and education settings to grow in confidence, consistency and impact. The programme provides protected space to reflect, learn and strengthen leadership practice over time. Sessions are practical, supportive and rooted in the real pressures leaders face day to day — safeguarding, decision-making, leading Adults, culture, and regulatory expectations. Each monthly session builds leadership skills gradually, helping leaders develop self-awareness, resilience and clear oversight, while keeping children’s lived experience at the centre of practice. The programme supports steady improvement rather than quick fixes and works alongside supervision and quality assurance arrangements. Sessions can be delivered one-to-one or in small groups, online or face-to-face, and can be joined at any point in the cycle. Example Monthly Programme Themes Month 1 – The Leader in Context Understanding your role, responsibilities and impact. Values, boundaries, accountability and confidence. Month 2 – Decision-Making Under Pressure Executive decisions, proportionality, risk, and learning from difficult moments. Month 3 – Leading Adults Well Support, challenge, supervision, expectations and managing performance safely. Month 4 – Safeguarding and Professional Curiosity Oversight, escalation, thresholds and creating a questioning culture. Month 5 – Culture, Consistency and Practice How leadership behaviour shapes the home. Embedding expectations and good recording. Month 6 – Oversight, Reflection and Improvement Using monitoring, Reg 44/45 learning and feedback to drive improvement. The programme then refreshes and repeats, allowing leaders to deepen learning over time.

Purpose Vodapod’s Leadership Development Programme provides structured, monthly leadership support for individuals working in regulated care and education settings. The programme is designed to strengthen leadership confidence, decision-making and oversight, while promoting safe, child-centred practice. Who the Programme Is For The programme is suitable for Registered Managers, Deputy Managers, Senior Adults, Team Leaders and Responsible Individuals. Sessions are tailored to role, experience and the regulatory context of each service. Programme Structure The programme is delivered as a rolling series of monthly sessions. Each session focuses on a key leadership theme, allowing learning to build gradually over time. Participants may join the programme at any point in the cycle. Sessions can be delivered one-to-one or in small groups, online or face-to-face by agreement. Focus and Content Monthly themes may include leadership identity and accountability, executive decision-making, leading Adults, safeguarding oversight, professional curiosity, creating consistent cultures, quality assurance and learning from Regulation 44 and 45 activity. Sessions are reflective, practical and grounded in real leadership challenges. Approach The programme provides a safe, supportive space for reflection and discussion. It is solution-focused and encourages honest exploration of strengths, pressures and areas for development. Sessions support leaders to translate reflection into clear, achievable actions. Boundaries and Responsibilities The Leadership Development Programme is developmental and supportive. It does not replace line management, supervision, HR processes, disciplinary procedures or statutory roles and responsibilities. Confidentiality and Safeguarding Sessions are confidential unless information shared indicates a safeguarding concern, risk of harm or a legal or regulatory requirement to escalate. Any such concerns will be managed sensitively and proportionately. Records and Review Brief records or action notes may be kept to support continuity and reflection. Records are stored securely in line with data protection requirements. Feedback is welcomed, and the programme is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains effective and relevant.
